Instead of thinking of your company’s older computers,
software, printers, monitors, modems, and other peripherals as used up,
consider them as recyclable. That’s the Hawai’I Computers for
Kids ™ Program, and it makes sense all the way around.
The Hawaii Computer for Kids Program takes your surplus
equipment and software and distributes them to grade schools and high
schools statewide- wherever they can make a difference. And it does
make a difference. The
Rotary Club of Metropolitan Honolulu in cooperation with the Hawaii
Department of Education, Hawaii Association of Independent Schools,
Hawaii Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism,
Hawaii Chamber of Commerce, and Tech Corps Hawaii sponsors the Computers
for Kids ™ Program. We’ve also teamed with Governor Cayetano’s Computers for
Schools Program via the Detwiler Foundation to add even more efficiency
to our efforts.
Donating used or overstocked computer equipment and
software to Computers for Kids ™ can make a difference to you,
too—at the bottom line—as all donations are tax deductible for both
companies and individuals. And
President Clinton passed the 21st Centry Classroom Act in
1997, where corporations donating computers less than two years old are
now able to take a charitable donation equal to the original purchase
price of the equipment.
You’ve helped Computers for Kids ™ by donating
thousands of computers since we started in 1992, so please keep
supporting Hawaii’s schools by sharing your newer hardware, software,
printers, peripherals, cables, supplies, and other related items today!
